Calculated Items in Excel Pivot Tables <\/a><\/strong>are very flexible to use. However, sometimes making modifications to them is not that straightforward as the interface is not that intuitive.<\/p>\n

Let me show it to you so that you can master editing a calculated item in a few steps!<\/p>\n

This is our current Pivot Table<\/a> setup:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

STEP 1:<\/strong><\/span> Select anywhere on your Pivot Table’s first column. Go to PivotTable Analyze > Fields, Items, & Sets > Calculated Item<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

STEP 2:<\/strong><\/span> Click on the dropdown list so that you can see all of the existing Calculated Items<\/p>\n

\"Editing<\/p>\n

STEP 3:<\/strong><\/span> Select H2 BONUS <\/b>and now you will see two buttons: Modify<\/strong> and Delete<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you want to make changes to the Formula<\/a>, select\u00a0Modify<\/strong>. If you want to remove it, then select\u00a0Delete<\/strong><\/p>\n

Let us try out deleting this, click\u00a0Delete\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0OK<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will see the H2 BONUS<\/strong> is now removed.<\/p>\n

STEP 4:<\/strong><\/span> Select anywhere on your Pivot Table’s first column. Go to PivotTable Analyze > Fields, Items, & Sets > Calculated Item<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Select\u00a0Average Bonus<\/strong> and we can make modifications to the Formula.<\/p>\n

Change this to\u00a0=’H1 BONUS’\/6<\/strong><\/p>\n

Click\u00a0Modify\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0OK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now you have your updated Pivot Table!<\/p>\n

By following these steps, you can easily edit or delete a calculated item in Pivot Table!<\/p>\n
