A Pivot Table<\/a> has a large amount of data that can be much easier read by highlighting the specific values<\/strong> that need to be viewed. One of the most common ways of highlighting<\/strong> values in pivot tables is by using conditional formatting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adding conditional formatting<\/strong> to Pivot Tables can brighten up the data and make it easier to analyze and interpret.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let us see how one can highlight cell rules based on date labels in a pivot table<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is our current Pivot Table setup. We want to highlight all of the dates of the current month (July 2021)<\/strong>\u00a0in our Row Labels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Example 1:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

STEP 1:<\/strong><\/span> Highlight all the date labels by clicking above the cell<\/p>\n

\"Highlight<\/p>\n

STEP 2:<\/strong><\/span> Go to\u00a0Home > Conditional Formatting > Highlight Cells Rules > A Date Occuring<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"Highlight<\/p>\n

STEP 3:<\/strong><\/span> Select This Month<\/strong> and select\u00a0OK.\u00a0<\/strong>You can select any color that you wish.<\/p>\n

The dates for this month are now highlighted! You can do the same for Column Labels <\/strong>as well.<\/p>\n

The best part is this is dynamic, if you open this workbook again next month, the highlighted date values will be for the next month instead!<\/p>\n

Example 2:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Further elaborating on this, we can even highlight a certain range of dates<\/strong> that we want to focus on. This can be achieved through the following steps:<\/span><\/p>\n

STEP 1:<\/strong><\/span> Highlight all the date labels by clicking above the cell<\/p>\n

STEP 2: <\/b><\/span>Go to <\/span>Home > Conditional Formatting > Highlight Cells Rules > Between\u2026<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

STEP 3:<\/b><\/span>Enter the range of dates that you want to be highlighted and select a style in which you want the cells to be highlighted.<\/span><\/p>\n
