If you want, you can make it <strong>dynamic<\/strong> by using a combination of INDEX and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myexcelonline.com\/meo-staging\/blog\/excel-match-function-intro\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>MATCH<\/strong><\/a> functions in Excel.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of manually searching the position of lookup values, you can easily use the MATCH function to<strong> return the position of an item within a list<\/strong> or a range of cells. The <strong>syntax<\/strong> of the MATCH function is<\/p>\n<p><strong>=MATCH(lookup_value, lookup_array, [match_type])<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>where,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>lookup_value<\/strong> -The value you want to find within the lookup_array.<\/li>\n<li><strong>lookup_array &#8211;<\/strong> The range of cells where Excel will search for the lookup_value.<\/li>\n<li><strong>[match_type] &#8211;<\/strong> (Optional) This argument specifies the type of match to be performed. It can take three values:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1 (or omitted) &#8211;<\/strong> Finds the largest value that is less than or equal to lookup_value<\/li>\n<li><strong>0 &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0Finds the first exact match. The lookup_array must be sorted in ascending order for this to work.<\/li>\n<li><strong>-1 &#8211; <\/strong>Finds the smallest value that is greater than or equal to lookup_value.
