Approximate matches<\/strong> are used when you have an ascending table like\u00a0Commission Bonus Rates<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0Income Tax Rates<\/em>.<\/p>\n If you have tried out\u00a0Vlookup Approximate Match in Excel<\/a>, there is another cool way to do this! You can use the\u00a0LOOKUP Formula\u00a0<\/strong>to accomplish this as well.<\/p>\n IMPORTANT:<\/strong>\u00a0For the LOOKUP Approximate Match to work in Excel<\/a>, the\u00a0lookup_vector<\/strong>\u00a0has to be sorted in\u00a0ascending order<\/strong>!<\/em><\/p>\n So the way that this formula works is that it looks at the first value in the\u00a0lookup_vector<\/em>\u00a0that is greater than the\u00a0lookup_value<\/em>\u00a0and then goes back one value.
